Tanaka, Itoi lead Nippon Ham over Softbank

Kensuke Tanaka and Yoshio Itoi drove in five runs between them and Brian Sweeney threw his first career shutout Monday, leading the Nippon Ham Fighters to a 7-0 rout of the Softbank Hawks. Tanaka put Nippon Ham on the board with a two-run single in the third inning. Itoi hit a solo homer in the fourth and added a two-run single that capped a four-run eighth in Pacific League action at Yahoo Dome. Sweeney (10-3) allowed just five hits and walked four in a 151-pitch outing. Junji Hoshino (0-1) gave up two runs in 2-1/3 innings.
